STATE OF NEW YORK EXECUTIVE CHAMBER ALBANY FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT GOVERNOR Warm Springs, Georgia December 3, 1931. Hon. John M. Hackett, 226 Union Street, Poughkeepsie, New York. Dear John: Will you write Mr. Hugh Reilly, that as I know all the facts in the matter of the land grant at Hyde Park, would he be good enough to run in and see me at the Executive Chamber on Tuesday or Wednesday, December 15th or 16th. The point of the whole case is that my brother and I received assurance from the State at the time the grant was given that a similar fill sufficient to support a boat house and a small landing would be all that was necessary to vest permanent title in the grant. Have you got any of the correspondence in the case at that time? If so, will you mail it to me so I will get it in Albany about the 15th? Sincerely yours, Franklin D Roosevelt [files Ram Bremm (?) -- look at copies of letters] |
