The report is based on five days observation of major towns, lodgement area, and conferences with several corps and division commanders. 1. Military. With rare exception, combat success, substantial leadership and morale of troops tops. Logistical support over beaches now surpassing schedule. Enemy divisions in North and Northwest reduced to about half strength. Civilian reports and prisoner in- terrogation indicate enemy troop morale low. Ab- sence of Luftwaffe important factor.
