I felt that Mr. Taylor convinced Mr. Churchill of the genuine
friendliness of the Vatican toward the United Nations' cause during the
discussion of Mr. Taylor's visit to the Pope. It will be recalled by
Mr. Taylor that he asked that the conversation be kept confidential,
owing to the personal character of the information he brought from the
Vatican.
