     Further conferences with General Issimo, who 
supports my stand and is giving me Lo Cho Ying as
executive.  Lo is strong character with good repu-
tation and I hope clear the situation generally.  Anyway it
is all I can expect for present. (attention SECWAR
and Chief Staff) .  My position would be greatly strength-
if it could not be brought to Burma ar once.  I strongly
recommend this. Japs have reinforced their Burma front
and started to Bomb our Back Areas.  Front quiet.
Gissimo has agreed to my use of 3 mixed Guerrilla
Battalions, Briish trained and Led, now in Kiangsi,
about 2500 men.  66th Army of 3Small Divisions also 
on way to Burma.  I leave tomorrow Saturday for
Pyawmbwe repeat Pyawmbwe, 5th Army Headquarters
