The French Air mission contemplates to purchase 100 more Douglas. If the U.S. Army gives the release for the latest Douglas A 20, the additional purchase would be l50 ships. General Arnold's decision will be known in a few days. [Need very badly.] Searchlights. The French Government needs very badly the searchlights which are not subject to the embargo, and would be of the utmost value for the anti aircraft defense of the big cities. Under the contracts the deliveries are to start in February but will not be important before April. The U.S. Army has placed a large order for the same searchlights, and these deliveries will start in November. Would it be possible to shift the deliveries from the American to the French contract. |
