     My 1243 August 25, 1 p.m.   I have just seen Cadogan
 
who told me he would let me know at home within the
 
next couple of hours what he could of Hendersont's report.
 
He did tell me, however, that they have received a 
 
message from Beck by which Beck gives the assurance that even 
 
if Danzig should attempt to become part of the Reich, Poland 
 
would not attempt military measures until they had discussed 
 
the situation with the British Government.
