47 East 65th Street March 28, 1938. Dear Mrs. Warren, Of course I deeply appreciate your feelings in the matter in regard to Dr. Schuschnigg. I also feel that anything that could be done should be done. On the other hand, I am quite sure that the State Department is fully aware of the present situation in regard to Dr. Schuschnigg and that in line with the President's recent statements, he desires to offer every assistance to those who are seeking to leave Austria that representations have been made through American and other National representatives in Vienna looking to the release of Dr. Schuschnigg. |
