notified to the other signatory Powers three months
in advance, and voting at least by a two-thirdst majority,
decides that the League of Nations ensures sufficient
protection to the high contracting parties; the treaty shall
cease to have effect on the expiration of a period of
one year from such decision."
 
 
The Treaty between the United States and Germany
restoring friendly relations, signed on August 25, 1921,
provides in Article II "that the rights and advantages
stipulated in that Treaty (Treaty of Versailles) for the
benefit of the United States, which it is intended the
United States shall have and enjoy, are those defined
in Section I, of Part IV, and Parts V, VI" et cetera,
et cetera.
 
 
          Since Articles 42, 43 and 44 are embodied in Part IIl
of the Treaty of Versailles "the rights and advantages"
stipulated therein would not appear to apply to the United States.
