I would like to tell you now, however, that I feel ever so confident about this front. The morale of the population is exceptionally good. There is unbounded determination to win. Stalin is anxious that the final negotiations for the loan from the R.F.C., be handled in Washington and is anxious that it be agreed upon at the earliest possible moment. I have had satisfactory conferences with Molotov, Steinhardt and Cripps. My mission here is nearly com- plete, and I shall be leaving soon. I am well and looking forward to seeing you.
