Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt

Dear Franklin:
In reference to the increase of your
assessment of $500. by the Board of Assessors of the Town
of Hyde Park, I was informed by George C. Tillou and john
Vandewater, two of the members of the Board, that it was
made because of the erection of the roadstand on the
Tompkins farm.
Tompkins Farm, 183 acres, now assessed
at $2800/
Fred Wright" 88 " " " " 2950.
Dumphy farm 184 " " " " 7200.
(Newbold)
From the above assessments I do not
think that a $500. increase on the Tompkins Farm is out
of proportion with the assessments of the neighboring
properties. If you think so,kindly let me know.
With kindest regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
[Henry T. Hackett]
