This Indenture,
 
Made the twenty-seventh day of November, nineteen hundred
and Thirty-seven.
 
Between Franklin D. Roosevelt, of the Town of Hyde Park,
Dutchess County, NY
 
    ...................... part y of the first part, and
 DOROTHY SCHIFF BACKER, of 944 Fifth Avenue, New York City,
N.Y.
 
 
party of the second part: Witnesseth, that the party
 
 of the first part, in consideration, of  ..... '

      'One Hundred ($100) Dollars, lawful money of the
United States, and
 other good and valuable considerations....... ' ........   
                           paid by the part Y of the second
part, does hereby grant and release unto the party of the
second part, her heirs------------ and assigns forever,
 
 All that certain tract of land situate, lying and being in
the Town of Hyde Park, Dutchess County, N.Y. which is
generally bounded and described as follows:
 
 0n the north by the south line of the Arnold Whitwell farm
now owned by Fred E.Wright; on the west by Violet Avenue 
formerly known as the Creek Road; on the south by the north
line of the farm formerly owned by Willet E.Bennett, now owned
by Franklin D.Roosevelt, and on the west by the west line ofthe 
land conveyed, by T. Jefferson  Newbold and others to Franklin 
D. Roosevelt by deed dated June 5th, 1935 and recorded 
Sept. 3rd, 1935in Liber 547 of Deeds at page 101 in the Dutchess
County Clerk's office.
 
 Excepting and Reserving therefrom a strip of land along the
north line ofsaid premises  50 feet in width at every point 
extending from Violet Avenue on the west to the land on the
east heretofore conveyed to said Franklin D. Roosevelt by
T. Jefferson Newbold and others for the purpose of a road 
and right of way affording means of ingress and agress to
and from the properties ofthe parties hereto for the use of
 all kinds of vehicles, domestic animals and foot
passengers for the benefit of the parties hereto, their heirs,
distributes,personal representatives
