Dear Franklin:
Since I wrote you this morning
about Oliver I saw Joseph A. McCabe of thiscity, who acts
as his attorneyin most of his legal actions, who told me
that Oliver had been in his office a short time ago and
said he was going to paint PresidentRoosevelt'shouse and
barn.
This afternoon I saw Moses Smith,
who said that Oliverhad been down to his place some time
ago to measure up the house and barns.
Oliver is a peculiarcharacter and
is in almost continuouslitigation of some kind oranotherand
at present is fighting over his wife's Will.
I most strongly advise you not
to have business dealings with William J. Oliver.
With kindest regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
