HENRY T. HACKETT ATTORNEY & COUNSELLOR AT LAW 226 UNION STREET POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK June 8th, 1938. Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt The White House Washington, D.C. Dear Franklin: William Plog telephoned me yesterday that he had moved William Birch out of the Hughson house into the Wyatt Jones house. Mr. Luckey, the fire insurance agent, who issued the fire insurance on the Hughson buildings, has just told me that the house may remain vacant for ten days free, but, after that it will be necessary to obtain a vacancy permitunless the ten day period is extended. He also said that the electrical work should be inspected by a representative of the Fire Insurance Company before the electrician is paid. I am writing Engelhardt that the house isvacant so that he may go to work. I think that the house will need a lot of cleaning and airing before anyone can occupy it. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely yours, [Henry T. Hackett] |
