Dear Henry:
In regard to the Schmaling farm, I think it is all
right to bid up to $8,250. This for 155 acres would be
about $53.00 an acre. Will you, therefore, go ahead with
this bid on August twenty-second. You can reach me at any
time on the ship by sending a telegram to the White House
with the request that it be transmitted by radio.
