Dear Franklin:
 
             The Bub or Schmaling farm is to be sold at 
public auction at the Court House on Tuesday, August 22rd 
at 12 o'clock noon.
                                
 
             I am informed that the total indebtedness owing
to the Land Bank would be about $8,000., which does not
include a second mortgage of $1,845. held by the Farmers and
Manufacturers National Bank of Poughkeepsie. I am also
informed that the Bank does not intend to bid, and if they
do not and no one else bids, it may be sold for about
$8,000.
 
             The total acreage of this farm was originally
about 160 acres out of which five parcels, which probably
do not exceed five acres, have been sold leaving 155 acres.
 
              The following is a computation of the price
per acre you have paid for land in that vicinity, viz:
Hughson farm, 90 A, cost $6,000. - $66. plus per acre.
Entire Dumphy farm, 184 A, cost $16,000. - $86. plus per acre
Wright land, 13.07 A, cost $1,960.50 - $150. per acre
Rohan farm, 133 A, cost $24,500. - $184. plus per acre
Briggs wood lot, l0 A, cost $500. - $50. per acre
Rogers, 52 A, cost $5,000. - $96. plus per acre
