June 24th, 1939. Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt Hyde Park Dutchess County, N. Y. Dear Franklin: Replying to yours of June 15th containing letter from Mrs. Lewis to Miss LeHand, Hatfield has already written to Mr. Lewis' first wife, Rose DeWitt Lent Lewis, at 155 East 72nd Street, New York City, Mrs. Leo at 58 Primrose Ave., Tuckahoe, N. Y., Mrs. Harriet D. Adams, at Provincetown, Mass. and Theodore D. Lent at 1317 Wade St., Highland Park, Ill. Mrs. Leo has appeared by Mr. Lent, an attorney at Highland, and Theodore D. Lent has written that he would not sign off until he saw the wood lot, so we decided it would be better to leave him until last. I thought it well not to bring up this matter during the visit of the King and Queen; but, now I have had Hatfield write to Mrs. Leo's lawyer and Mrs. Adams to find out how much they want for their shares in the wood lot. As soon as he hears from them, I will let you know. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely yours, Henry Hackett |
