Dear Franklin:
 
             I am enclosing herewith a copy of a letter 
from Rose Dewitt Lewis, who owns a 1/6 interest in the 
Lent wood lot, to E. I. Hatfield and a copy of his 
reply to her.
 
             I did not put up the $500. as I thought that 
the owners of the other 2/6 of the wood lot would also 
want $500. each.
