July 31, 1940 Dear Henry:- I did not realize that there are only 92 acres in the Jacobs farm. I supposed there were about 150 acres. It seems to me that $7,000 - $75.00 an acre - is a good deal too high for that farm, especially because the land on the east side of the road on the hill is just about as bad as any land in the County. If the place is sold at auction, I would be willing to go up to $5,000, but I think that would be enough to pay. As ever yours, Franklin Roosevelt |
