July 27, 1940. MEMORANDUM FOR HENRY T. HACKETT As I remember it, this is the farm due east of the famous controversial wood lot and north of the Peter Rohan farm. As I recall it, Jacobs wanted to sell for $8,000 which you and I both thought was too high. It seems to me if we could get it for a lower price, and if Peter Rohan were willing to rent it for the amount of the taxes, it might be worth considering. Will you answer this letter for me? F. D.
