April 22nd, 1940. Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt Warm Springs Georgia. Dear Franklin: I have had several letters from Earle W. Newton, who says he is to be connected with your library, about renting or buying the house near the sheep barns on the Rogers place. Mr. Rogers is willing to rent, but does not want to sell off any Dart of the main property. I do not think that Mr. Newton is aware of the fact that the house has no modern improvements, electric light, water, etc. and that there are no electric light poles within a half mile. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely yours, Henry Hackett |
