2. Real Estate on Hand, The status and disposition to be made of the remaining real estate after the sale of the East Tract to Elliott Roosevelt was considered at length. With respect to the West Tract at Hyde Park consisting of the 113 acres to the rear of the Home of the Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, it was unanimously agreed that for the time being the asking price of $30,000.00 and the upset price of $15,000.00 as per arrangements with Joseph P. Day, Inc. be continued. Colonel Roosevelt was of the opinion that the New York Central Railroad might be interested in that property and that Joseph P. Day, Inc. be requested to explore that possibility. Mr. Koons reported that Joseph P. Day, Inc. has already had some contacts with the New York Central Railroad but would explore that possibility further. With respect to the 100 foot right-of-way running from the Albany Post Road to the Hudson River and consisting of 6.4 acres, it was, after a full discussion, decided to revise the previous instructions to Joseph P. Day, Inc. relative to its availability for sale at this time. Mr. Koons was authorized to advise Joseph P. Day, Inc. that if in its opinion the sale of the right-of-way would render the West Tract more salable, that at least a 50 foot right-of-way could be sold at this time.
