the Rogers (52 acres) and Wheeler (67 acres) parcels to the rear of the Historic Site on the west side of the Post Road. They would insist on a right-of-way of a least fifty feet to the Post Road. They place a valuation of $6,500 on the Rogers lot and $3,500 on the Wheeler tract, with a fifty foot right-of-way. (f) If restrictions on use requested by Secretary of the Interior Krug were placed on the property they would not be interested in purchasing it. Mr. Mylod stated that, in his opinion, the land would not be worth more than $10,000 with the Department of the Interior restrictions. 2. Frederic A. Smith Offer dated March 31, 1947. Mr. Hackett submitted a letter dated March 31, 1947 addressed to "Members of the Roosevelt Family and Executors of the Roosevelt Estate" signed by Frederic A. Smith on behalf of a group consisting of Ferderic A. Smith, Benson R. Frost, Charles Conger, Arthur S. Halpin, Joseph Heisler and James Talbot with respect to the possibility of purchasing a parcel of land on the west side of the Albany Post Road facing the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library and Historic Site for the purpose of providing restaurant and hotel facilities for visitors to the Historic Site. No price is stated in the letter but the Executors are requested to place a price upon the Site comprising the area opposite the Library. It is stated in the letter that the group comprises men of moderate means who have faith in their project and if it is favorably recieved will proceed to incorporate and make the financial arrangements necessary. 3. Mary Newbold Morgan Offer dated March 28, 1947.
