the term of Mr. Roosevelt's Will, Mrs. Roosevelt and the
five children were given the right to select such household 
and personal effects as they might choose, they selected 
items aggregating only $7,825.40. The balance of the 
household and personal effects situated at Hyde Park at 
the time of death, valued at $24,804.60, goes to the United 
States Government for display at either the residence or the 
Franklin D. Roosevelt library at Hyde Park.
 
      In addition to the household and personal effects 
located in New York at the time of death, Mr. Roosevelt left 
household and personal effects and books at the White House 
in Washington, D. C. appraised at $20,082.50, and his postage 
stamp collection which was also physically located at 
Walhington, D. C. Although the postage stamp collection was 
appraised by George B. Sloane as having a value of $79,267.00 
at the time of Mr. Roosevelt's death, the Executors realized a 
total of $212,847.40 on the three sales of the collection at 
section by H. R. Harmer, Inc. in February, April and July of 
this year.
 
      The Federal Estate Tax Return of the Estate was filed 
by the Executors with the Collector of Internal Revenue at 
Albany, N. Y. early in July of this year. Estate, Inheritance 
Tax and Succession Duty Returns have also been filed in the 
State of Georgia, the District of Columbia, Dominion of Canada 
and Province of New Brunswick, Canada.
