Gentlemen:

President and Mrs. Roosevelt conveyed to the United States
of America by deed dated Dec. 29, 1943 and recorded in Liber 613
of Deeds at page 209, 33.23 acres on which the residence and all
other buildings owed by the President west of the Post Road were
then located. They reserved the life use of the property for the
President, and Mrs. Roosevelt and their five children were to have
the joint right to use and occupy the property for life, the
occupants to pay the taxes and upkeep. Mrs. Roosevelt and the
children have decided to give up the right to use and occupy
this property and the U. S. Government will take possession in a
few days.

devised by James Roosevelt to President Roosevelt, subject to the
life estate of Sara D. Roosevelt, was 116.9 acres
