June 24, 1933. My deer Mr. Hackett: I should have written before to tell you that I saw your brother and his wife in Tucson, and I was perfectly delighted to see how well John looked. It must be very gratifying to you all to know that he is really getting well again. It was very nice to see them both. Could you find out for me to whom the property belongs adjoining the Smith farm on the west side of the main road? There is a field there that a friend of mine would like to buy if it is not too expensive. I would like to know what the asking price is end whet you think the lowest cash price would be. You can get in touch with Miss Cook if you want more definite information as to which piece of property it is, or you can write me in Washington as to the price. I will be back there the 2nd of July. Very sincerely yours, Eleanor Roosevelt |
