Dear Mr. Hackett: There is enclosed herewith copy of a letter dated November 2l, 1945 from Secretary Ickes advising me that the quitclaim _deed dated July 30, l945 from Mrs. Roosevelt and her children has been accepted by him. You will note that the Executors of the 9]state and members of the family will be granted free access to the Hyde Park property until a full accounting stud transfer of the personal, property has been completed. I am also enclosing herewith copy of a better sated November 2() 1945 from James Roosevelt, together with the anclosures referred to therein. Please note that Mr. Roosevelt requests the earliest possible approval of the steps recommended oy Willis & Ohristy as present market conditions require fairly prompt action. With reference to the Hill Top Cottage problem, I am also enclosing herewith copy of a letter dated November 16, 1945 from Mrs. Roosevelt and copy of a letter dated November 20,1945 from James, both of which I received today. Major Hooker also understands the problem end has promised to do whatever ne can to clear up the situation. Apparently the matter will ultimately be ironed out in a satisfactorily manner.
