16. HOME FRONT NIGHT OF 11th/12th.
 
      Manchester area suffered most. Serious fire now under control 
      was started at Anglo-American Oil Company premises at Trafford-Park. 
      Ships in Salford Docks and Manchester Ship Canal were attacked 
      with some success. Casualties do not appear to be heavy.
 
      
 
 
17. In Birmingham area bombs were mostly incendiaries damage 
      was well restricted by fire-fighters.
 
      
 
 
18. At Southampton fires were started and some 250 people 
      rendered homeless.
 
      
 
 
19. PORTSMOUTH, bombs fell on centre of city and nine people 
      were killed and seven seriously injured.
 
      
 
 
20. In London there were only minor incidents.
