      station near Liverpool suffered a major breakdown. House property 
      and utility services in Liverpool area have suffered extensively. 
      Casualties - at present - difficult to assess but do not appear 
      to be heavy in proportion to the scale of the attack. In the 
      rest of the country, major incidents occurred only at Southampton 
      where damage was caused to reservoir and to Harland and Wolff's 
      Yard and at St. Eval aerodrome.

      German
 
      Bombers: 8 destroyed, 5 probably destroyed, 1 damaged
 
      Fighters: 1 detroyed, 5 probably destroyed, 6 damaged
 
      Totals: 9 destroyed, 5 probably destroyed, 6 damaged 
 
      British: seven bombers missing.
