Ship stopped and quickly listed 20 degrees to starboard although majority of Ships Company was taken off. By 21 hours ship was in tow of 2 tugs with destroyer alongside providing electric power. Though steam has been raised in one boiler and was being raised in another and hoped ship would soon be able to steam, at 4-45/14th fire broke out in remaining boiler room and list increased to 37 degrees. At six/14th it was reported that Ark Royal had sunk. 2. Small Dutch ship mined and sunk in Falmouth harbor p.m. 13th. 3. P.M. 12th.
