. Morning 3rd His Majesty's submarine Proteus 
      hit with one torpedo Italian tanker Tampico 4958 tons in Aegean 
      off Mardila Island. Tanker still afloat at dusk, escorts prevented 
      second attack. Afternoon of l0th Proteus scored 4 hits on German 
      ship Ithaka class 1773 tons heavily laden southbound near San 
      Giorgio Island which she had shadowed since previous evening. 
                One possible hit scored on escort.

 Russia. Heavy fighting continues at Kalinin; 
      immediately south of this Germans are attacking. North of Tula 
      German advance has been held but German thrust is developing

 Day of 18th hurricanes bombed factory 
      near Montreuil, fighters attacked goods train, large warehouse,

. Night of 16th/17th landing grounds 
      at El Timimi and El Gazala attacked. 17th landing grounds at 
      El Gazala and Bit El Baheira attacked. Night of l7th/18th Naples
