E-boats attacked Convoy off Cromer 2330/19th. One British ship of 2,426 tons, one British ship 1,159 tons, and British tanker of 5,802 tons were sunk. Escorts engaged E-boats and our M.G.B.'s intercepted by (sic) 0545/20th off the Hook. Two E-boats probably destroyed by escort and one possibly by Spitfires, off Holland. Russian submarine of the Chuka class in the vicinity of Fuglo Sound sank on the 2nd unescorted Westbound Vessel 5,000 tons, on the 9th escorted eastbound vessel of 4,000 tons, on the l0th, 4,000 tons eastbound vessel. On the 15th in Varanger Fjord Molodki class submarine torpedoed southbound Tanker, later seen on fire. On the 17th British ship of 969 tons shot down a D.O. 17 off Yarmouth.
