AIR OPERATIONS
 
      19th. A Hurricane shot down 2 German bombers into the sea. 19th/20th. 
      Bombing operations cancelled.
 
      LIBYA. 18th. Our bomber and fighter aircraft kept up a heavy 
      attack on about 2,000 M.T. withdrawing westwards from MEKILI. 
      Many vehicles were destroyed. Marylands hit at least four JU 
      52's dispersed on BENINA aerodrome. 18th/19th. 42 Wellingtons 
      operated against BENGHAOI, some mines were laid and hits were 
      scored on the moles and on M.T. near the town. A/A fire at BENGHAOI 
      had greatly decreased. 3 Wellingtons laid mines inside TRIPOLI 
      Harbour while 3 others bombed the town.
 
      
 
 
CENTRAL MEDITERRANEAN
. 18th/19th. Naval aircraft scored 
      hits with torpedoes on two merchant vessels of about 8,000 tons 
      in a south bound convoy north of HOMS.
 
      
 
 
SARAWAK.
 19th. Dutch Glen Martins attacked enemy vessels 
      off the northeast coast claiming one hit and one near miss on 
      a Japanese cruiser and a hit and two near misses on another large 
      ship. They also claim one enemy aircraft shot down. One Glen 
      Martin was lost.

ENEMY ACTIVITY
 
      MALTA. 18th/19th. 7 aircraft bombed LUQA aerodrome. One Wellington 
      on the ground was destroyed and others were damaged.
 
      
 
 
SARAWAK.
 19th. Enemy aircraft continuously attacked 
      PONTIANAK in WEST BORNEO causing considerable damage to the town. 
      KUCHING aerodrome was bombed by 15 enemy aircraft. Aircraft casualties 
      in operations over and from the British Isles - German, two destroyed.
