                  NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES                   
                                                            
                                                            
       SIOE="-1" FACE="Courier New">. Three air attacks were made on 
      a large enemy convoy reported in the South West CELEBES SEA, 
      during two of them, one transport was sunk and one set on fire 
      and five enemy fighters were shot down. A subsequent attack was 
      made by night by UNITED STATES destroyers. Observed results - 
      one large ship blown up, one sunk and one severely damaged. The 
             enemy convoy is now reported in TARAKAN.       
                                                            
 
                                                            
 
 
                                                            
22nd. Air attacks were 
      made on GORONTALO (CELEBES), SABANG (NORTH SUMATRA) and MEDAN 
      where damage was caused to the docks. On the 23rd, 27 Japanese
