BURMA
. 3rd. 20 bombers and 9 Fighters carried out a 
      raid on TOUNGOO. No damage is reported.
 
      
MALAYA
. 2nd/3rd. 47 heavy bombers attacked SINGAPORE, 
      warehouses at the docks and an oil 
 
      cistern were set on fire. Considerable material damage was caused 
      and there were some military 
 
      casualties. Civilian labour has disappeared. One bomber was shot 
      down by anti-aircraft guns. 
 
      Attacks were also made on shipping south of SINGAPORE ISLAND.

      have evidently been less 
 
      than was stated. It is now reliably estimated that the total 
      transported by this route between 
 
      December 12th and January 18th was 50-80,000 tons.
