I did not give Mr. Davis the reasons for my inability to act in just way  
he proposed. I do not believe it would help matters to make known to him  
   or anyone else between me and the Little Steel group.    
 
                                                            
 
 
Mr. Lewis is taking the suggestion of talks under consideration and will  
telephone me when he has conferred with his associates and has reached a   
                         decision.
