THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
Locust Valley, NY
November 9, 1941
Personal and ...... telephone message.
To: The President
From: Myron Taylor
In the event of further consideration being given to the matter we
discussed, of making use of certain leaders in an advisory capacity, I
regret, as I indicated at the time, that it would not be wise to consider
me as a member of such a group. It would be outside the field in which I
feel that I would like to, and can, most usefully work. No one knows
better than yourself that the labor filed, with recurring troubles, is
one of continuous strain. For this reason, I am advised , I should not
undertake such a responsiblity at this time.
I would always want you to feel free however to call upon me whenever I
can be helpful in a particular situation.
I am informed that Mr. Walter C. Teagle and Mr. Charles E. Adams, both of
the Mediation Board have seemed to be working together cooperatively and
constructively in these affairs. I of course have known Mr. Teagle
favorably for a ong time, but I have very little personal acquaintance
with Mr. Adams.
