If the government of the USSR allowed public religious services for our   
armed forces, and in the beginning, in some few cases, even for our Polish   
civilian population, this concession, I believe, was made purely out of   
motives of political expediency as prerequisite propaganda for a succesful   
ation of the pact signed with the United States and Great Br
 
                                                            
 
 
All the praise accorded to the USSR for its religious freedom is dangerous,   
since the Soviet authorities while not allowing religious services, make   
ple to accept this undeserved tribute with a kind of sardoni
 
                                                            
 
 
Therefore, relying on the opion of my priest and on my personal   
observations, I humbly request Your Excelency to oppose amy attempts that   
may be made by teh Soviets and their friends to spread propaganda on the   
existence of relgious freedom in Russia, and to present to the Most   
    Reverend Bishops the true picture of this situation.
