Rome, December 22, 1944
Dear Mr. President:
Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, who has been an acquaintance of ours for many
years , has sent me in confindence for delivery to you by Brother of the
Museo Missionario Etnologico del Laterano the attached document which,
after a brief examination, purports to be a survey of the German situation.
I have not considered it desirable to have a special examination made of
document here, but prefer that you should see it at first h
Prince Rupprecht who is now 75 years of age has been very ill in a hospital.
For many years he has been a refugee from Germany living in a small
villa on the estate of an acquaintance of ours. During the German
occupation he was in hiding. He is an interesting, scholarly man and well
schooled in European politics. His wife , an dso by his first mariage and
members of his family by his second marriage are in the hands of the
Germans-whereabouts unknown.
With kind regards, believe me
Sincerely yours
Myron C. Taylor
