After the distribution of powdered milk, milk foods and vitamins to the Orphanages and Children's Hospitals in Rome from January 16th to January 20, and the similiar distribution to the Orphanages and Children's Hospitals in Naples, from February 2nd to February 6th, a third important distribution of vitamins is being carried out in the municipal and private elementary school in Rome. A list has been prepared of all the schools and a quantity of vitamin tablets is being given to each one sufficient for all the children for a first period of one month. Every day the Head of the School will give to each teacher the number of tablets necessary for their class and the tablets will be given to the children by the teacher to be consumed immediately. Registers are being kept of the children receiving vitamins, together with a Doctor's note on the general health conditions of the children and the progress made by a picked group of children to be kept under medical supervision. It is calculated that 64,840 children will benefit by this distribution. February 7, 1945 |
