MEMORANDUM FOR
G.H.R.
I have now got the figures of the assessments on
the Dumphy farm (on Violet Avenue, both sides) and on the
Hughson farm (Linaka's house and the barn).
On the latter there is no change in the assessment of
$6,000. In the case of the Dumphy farm, the land lying west
of Violet Avenue, the figures increased form $5,700 to
$8,000 -- an increase of $2,300, which is evidently due to
the new places on the west side.
This increase of $2,300, at the rate of $26.32,
amounts to $60.53.
Therefore, in accordance with the agreement, you owe
me that amount -- $60.53.
I think we are very lucky to have got off so lightly
this past year. It is, of course, too early to tell whether the
assessment will be raised again this year or not.
