In view of the changed circumstances, the Lloyd Aereo Boliviano was reorganized after the war on the basis of the actual values contributed by private capital and by the Government, and It appears that today the Government owns about 80 percent of the stock participation in the company, the remainder still being controlled largely by Germans resident in Bolivia. The Minister expressed the opinion that it was fantastic to link the present Lloyd Aereo Boliviano with any plans for German aviation expansion in South America. He wanted thls Government to know that hls Government preferred to use American aviation equipment in lieu of the equipment of any other country. He commented upon the unfortunate experience that Bolivia has had in connection with an order for Italian planes placed about a year and a half ago. The planes, which have only recently arrived in Bolivia, have proved entirely unsatisfactory and the Bolivian Government has instituted suit In Italy against the company to recover the purchase price on the grounds that the planes were not what they were represented to be.
