     Naturally the visit has occasioned lively interest, but as there are infinite variety of matters
on which I might have gone to see the Queen it occurrs to me that the Pesident and yourself may
feel that on the whole speculation in certain quaters as to the actual purpose of my visit may be a
rather useful thing.
