                  Strength through Joy Car                  
 
 On the basis of a grant from the Labor Front,
Strength through Joy is building a large factory
for the manufacture of a "people's car" which may
be bought for RM 990 by payment on an installment
plan costing a minimum of RM 5 per week. Orders
for the car have just now been opened. At the end
of 1939, 30,000 cars will be finished and it is
planned in about eight years time from now eventually 
to increase production to one and a half
million. While it is claimed that the car will
be within the reach of the ordinary worker and
will bring about an even wider motorization than
in the United StateS, some doubt is cast upon the
immediate fulfillment of this claim, it being perceived
