                          Finances                          
 
 In 1937, Strength through Joy had a total income 
from money collected of RM 107,000,000 which,
it is asserted, covered all expenses except for
RM 35,000,000, this deficit being met by a subsidy
from the Labor Front which has become one of the 
richest organizations in Germany. It is stated
that the overland journeys are the only form of
activity which completely meets costs, the other
departments incurring in greater or less degree
charges against the general budget. It is estimated 
roughly that last year German economy profited 
by a turnover of RM 120,000,000 from Strength
through Joy, representing money spent on trips,
travel equipment, and extras.
 
                      Final Evaluation                      
 
 Despite the incidental costs placed upon
the employers, many of the latter endorse Strength
through Joy beecause, in their view: (1) it is a
factor making for industrial peace; (2) as a result
