November 9, 1937. Dear Henry:- I think the enclosed map is an excellent solution so will you go ahead with the purchase from Fred Wright? I enclose check to your order for $1,960.50 so that when the mortgages are releasd, including the strip colored red, you will be able to close the title. I am not quite familiar enough with the location of the swamp area at the north end to express an opinion on whether we should try to get Devans to exchange the easterly end of his Avenue. I take it, however, that there is no particular hurry about deciding this. Let me know when you hear from the Engleharts. There is, of course, no reason why the old man should not stay in the house until such time as the Engleharts are ready to move in if they do so at all. If they decide not to,. the old man could stay there until I get back in the Spring and am able to find another couple. It seems to me that unless the Enfleharts really want to go through with the proposal I wrote you of in my last letter, we can feel that we have done all that is necessary for them and try to get a family to rent the place next spring after I have had the place cleaned up and had light and water and heat put in. |
