                                            Sept. 24th,
1929.

Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt,
     Warm Springs, Georgia.

Dear Franklin:-

In reference to the Sarah C. Tompkins
estate, Sarah Sweeten has agreed to remain in the house
until we can prove the Will. She gave me Mrs. Tompkins' map
of the farm, and have had a blue print made and am
enclosing it herewith.

The old house which you spoke to me about
is on the G. W.Allen farm, which was sold by Frederick
Barnard and his sister as Executors of his father's estate
to Richard F.Rohan in 1904.

"The Dutchess Hill Place" formerly owned
by George Schryver, now consists of only about 28 acres of
land, most of the original farm having been sold off and is
now owned by Florence D. Campbell.

This property has been listed with Mr.
E. C. Dayton of Poughkeepsie for some time at $15,000., but
has lately been withdrawn from sale. Mrs. Campbell has been
ill and is now unable to see anyone. As soon as she is
better Mr. Dayton will find out about the sale of this
property.

It seems to me that the view from most
any part of the Rohan property further north is better than
that from this property, which looks down upon the State
Hospital cottages.

                     With kindest regards, I am

                            Yours very truly,

HTH/D
