THIS INDENTURE made the - 24th - day of
 
July    , one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, between
FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT and ANNA ELEANOR ROOSEVELT, his wife,
both of the Town of Hyde Park, Dutchess County, State of
New York, parties of the first part, end UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA, party of the second part, WITNESSETH:
 
           WHEREAS, Franklin D. Roosevelt, one of the
parties of the first part, has agreed to convey unto the
United States of America the land hereinafter described to
be utilized as a site for the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library
in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in a
Joint ResolutiOn of Congress hereinafter mentioned, end
subject also to certain conditions hereinafter set forth,
and
 
            WHEREAS, by virtue of the said Joint Resolution
of Congress, approved July 18, 1939, (Pub. Res. No. 30,
76th Congress, 1st Session), which is hereby referred to
and made a part hereof, The Archivist of the United States
is authorized and empowered to accept for and in the name
of the United States of America
