Heavy bombers carried out very effective work night of August lst/2nd. Fires were started in four oil plants at Krupps, at Essen and on marshalling yards, one aerodrome also attacked. Particularly successful results at Kamen oil plant, three successive aircraft caused explosions, one being particularly violent, target appeared completely destroyed. Yesterday owing to weather conditions no day nombers reached Germany; very successful attacks delivered by twenty-four on their aerodromes in Belgium and Holland, one aircraft missing. |
