There is to be a New Year religious festival at Albert Hall
on January 1, the national day of prayer. The Archbishop of Canterbury
and Cardinal Hinsley will give short addresses. All religious
groups will be represented. The heads of the Empire and allied
governments here with members of the Cabinet are also going.
The King is being requested to send a message and I have been
asked for a message from the President. The object of the meeting
is to emphasize the fact to those here and elsewhere that the
Allies are fighting for the restoration and preservation of Christendom.
