Dec. 12th, 193l. Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Executive Mansion, Albany, N. Y. Dear Governor:- I have written Mr. Reilly, as requested in your letter of the 3rd inst., and enclosed herewith his reply thereto. The only letters I can find regarding the grant are enclosed herewith - one from Secretary of State Lazansky and one from you. Have written the Trust Company and asked them to look over any communications they might have among the papers in their possession but have received no reply from them yet. Any assurance from the State in writing would have been sent to your brother personally and it might be a good idea to have one of Sam Rosenman's assistants look over the Attorney General's files in this matter, if possible, and see if a copy of a letter giving the assurances about filling in the land granted spoken of by you cannot be found among the Attorney General's old files. With best wishes, believe me John Hackett |
